CPC to Jonathan, Don't Impose Emergency Rule on Boko Haram States

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has come down hard on the speculated decision of the President to consider Emergency Rule as a way of stemming the increasing activities of Boko Haram in states such as Borno, Yobe and Kano where the sect has killed thousands of innocent Nigerians.

Boko Haram recently escalated its terrorist activities with atta is on Baga, Marte and Bama where they attacked a military barracks. A Senator from Borno, Senator Khalifa Ahmed Zanna, the Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial Zone, yesterday said that Boko Haram controls 23 out of the 27 Local Government Areas of Borno State.

The  CPC in a statement by Rotimi Fashakin, rejected the thought of Emergency Rule. NaijaPundit brings you the full statement below; Add a comment

One day, govt ’ll beg for dialogue –Odumakin

One day, govt ’ll beg for dialogue –Odumakin

Mr. Yinka Odumakin is the National Publicity Secretary of the pan-Yoruba social cultural organisation, Afenifere, and the spokesman of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG). Odumakin, a human rights activist, in this interview with TEMITOPE OGUNBANKE, says that there are clear indications that some people have decided to destroy the country because they could not gain control of affairs. He also speaks on the proposed amnesty for Boko Haram and the resuscitation of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) among other issues

What is your view about the state of the nation considering various issues militating against the growth and development of Nigeria?

The situation is very frightening, and like the leader of Afenifere said in the press conference that he addressed two weeks ago, Nigerian seem to be preparing for a war while we are pretending that we want to hold elections. All the signals that we are seeing now are very dangerous for this country.

We have a situation where insecurity is going high, where kidnappers, assassins and terrorists have taken over the country. We are in a situation where the president has not been in the Northern part of the country more than 10 times in two years of his presidency. Add a comment
