Jonathan to Sultan-"I Cannot Issue Amnesty to Ghosts"
President Goodluck Jonathan who is currently touring the Boko Haram strongholds of Borno and Yobe states has rescinded to the Sultan of Sokoto's call for a total amnesty to Boko Haram. It would be recalled that His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto had on Tuesday at a conference called for a total amnesty for all armed groups as a way to bring peace to the North.
Speaking at a Town Hall forum with Nigerian citizens in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, the President was asked a question about the Sultan's suggestion where upon he responded by saying he could not give amnesty to people that were unknowns to the government saying "I cannot give amnesty to ghosts"Add a comment
