Sir Alex Ferguson will step down as Manchester United manager at the end of the season after 26 years in charge.
The Scot, 71, has won 38 trophies since taking over from Ron Atkinson on 6 November 1986, including this season's Premier League title.
His haul includes 13 titles, two Champions League crowns, five FA Cups and four League Cups.
"The decision to retire is one that I have thought a great deal about. It is the right time," Ferguson said.
"It was important to me to leave an organisation in the strongest possible shape and I believe I have done so.

Imo State citizens yesterday witnessed a colourful rally as eight state governors in the newly merged All Progressive Congress (APC) stormed the state to attend what Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha described as Imo Freedom Rally.
Speaking at the rally held at the Heroes Square, Owerri, Okorocha disclosed that 23 governors are in the APC, waiting for the right moment to declare for the party.
The rally, which attracted thousands of Okorocha’s supporters, saw the governor officially pulling members of his faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) into the APC. Add a comment
Asari Dokubo Should Be Tried For Treason - Babangida
Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu, has said that a former leader of mitant group, Asari Dokubo should be made to face treasonable trial for threatening war if President Goodluck Jonathan is not voted back into office in 2015
He told the army chief who paid him a courtesy call that security agents should have arrested Asari Dokunbo for treason when he made that statement.

Even though the chances that Nigeria will split or disintegrate into pieces as claimed by pessimists seem slim, the pertinent question still remains. Should the nation divide? Many are asking. Those that want the nation to break will surely be disappointed.
