Atiku's Political Adviser Justifies Malian Coup

Amazingly, Malam Bashir Yusuf, erstwhile Political Adviser to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has justified yesterday's coup on Mali. Bashir Yusuf did so in a tweet on his twitter profile leaving pundits to wonder if that is what he and his clique want for Nigeria.

As usual, NaijaPundit brings you the tweet below.

What Does Datti Know About Boko Haram?

Written by IYOBOSA UWUGIAREN.

What Does Datti Know About Boko Haram?

What informed the federal government’s decision to even agree to dialogue with Boko Haram last week, with Dr. Ibrahim Datti as mediator? Tired of fighting terrorists and murderers, and tired of protecting its citizens?

I suspect two things might have happened: It is either members of the deadly sect and their sponsors are fast losing ground to security agencies and, by extension, the war and wanted soft - landing or some people in the corridor of power wanted to prove to President Goodluck Jonathan how influential they are. 2015 Intrigues: Atiku Pulls The Rug From Under Bamanga Tukur

2015 Intrigues: Atiku Pulls The Rug From Under Bamanga Tukur

Sensing that President Jonathan had pulled a fast one on him by tacitly disqualifying him from the 2015 PDP presidential race since he and President Jonathan's hand picked favourite for the PDP chairmanship come from the same state (and the party chairman and the presidential candidate cannot come from the same state)  the wily Atiku Abubakar had pulled all his strings to see to it that his zone, the  Northeast, rejected Bamanga Tukur in favourite of Musa Babayo, the outgoing National Secretary of the PDP.

Babayo scored 14 votes to beat Tukur who got 2 votes, with Alhaji Ibrahim Bunu and Dr Shettima Mustapha also getting 2 votes each. Former Bauchi governor Ahmadu Adamu Mua’zu and outgoing PDP publicity secretary Rufai Alkali scored 1 vote each. Add a comment

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday told an Abuja High Court that a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-Rufai and two of his officials unilaterally revoked some juicy plots of land and allocated same to themselves, their relatives and their companies.

Sunday Idowu, a former operative of the EFCC made the disclosure while being led in evidence by the commission’s lawyer, Adebayo Adelodun, in continuation of trial of the former minister who is facing an eight-count of abuse of office.

Despite Rampage of Boko Haram, Northern Leaders Ask FG to Remove Soldiers From The North!

alt

Disturbed by the socio-economic hardship being experienced by the people of northern Nigeria as a result of massive deployment of military personnel in most states of the region, leading stakeholders have called for withdrawal of the armed forces from the streets. Speaking after one of the meetings held last Thursday at Maizube Farms, belonging to former head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former minister of finance, Malam Adamu Ciroma, who chaired the meeting, said that the summit had acknowledged the tension generated by the massive deployment of soldiers in the northern region and it had directed that the concerns should form part of the communiqué that would be sent to the federal government for redress.
